Welcome to the Volunteer Centre

❤️ Your local organisation for Volunteering Support ❤️

At the Volunteer Centre, we connect passionate individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities; support organisations looking to recruit volunteers, and offer guidance on best practices for volunteer management.

For Organisations: Volunteer Recruitment

Are you looking to recruit dedicated volunteers who share your organisation’s values and mission? Whether you need volunteers for a one-time event or ongoing projects, we can help you. We can advertise your volunteer vacancies on our database, and promote your volunteering opportunities on our social media pages, and to anyone that contacts the Volunteer Centre directly.

Help you to develop Best Practices within your organisation to help you retain, support and develop your team of volunteers – from creating volunteer roles to implementing training programs and policies, we are here to ensure your volunteer program is successful and sustainable.

Join our Volunteer Coordinators Network (VCN) – to access resources, and attend regular Meetings to share insights, exchange ideas and make new connections. You will also receive regular news and updates – including volunteering, funding, training, and community information. Register your organisation here.

For Volunteers: Why Volunteer?

  • Becoming a volunteer provides opportunities for personal growth and self-improvement, to develop new skills, gain experience and discover hidden talents and interests.
  • Volunteering allows you to make a positive impact within your community by contributing your time, effort and resources to local organisations and causes – making a difference in people’s lives.
  • It’s good for your health – engaging in volunteer work has been linked to better physical, mental and emotional health, building your self-esteem and confidence.
  • Gives you a sense of purpose and fulfilment by contributing to something meaningful.
  • Increase your social connections, meet new people, make new friends, feel a valued part of a team, expand your understanding of others and gain new perspectives.
  • Boost your job skills – gain and develop new transferable skills & knowledge in different areas. Volunteering can highlight your character, passion and determination.
  • Finally, volunteering can be a fun and fulfilling way to make a positive impact on the world whilst enjoying yourself in the process!

Register with us and explore our database – whatever your interests, a volunteer role is waiting for you.
