Giving your community or voluntary group the support and information you need. Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service supports community and voluntary groups in Rushcliffe, from advice centres and lunch clubs to wildlife trusts or scout groups, we’re here to help and inspire groups and organisations to get started and run professionally. We offer expert advice and assistance with training, fundraising and volunteering, as well giving encouragement and moral support.

We represent your views. Because we believe in the value and work of the community voluntary sector, we endeavour to represent their views to those who make decisions affecting their work.  

We run a number of projects to help many people. Managing a number of community based schemes for a wide range of people is another string to our bow. We run a Voluntary Transport Scheme, are involved with Health Development Work and we run a number of projects for older people like Community Outreach Advisor Service, Housing Choices Service and First Contact Signposting Scheme, as well as the BME Community Outreach Service. We employ three Community Involvement Workers based at Rushcliffe Children's Centre and also manage a Visitor Centre at HMP Whatton.   All in all, in every aspect of what we do, we strive to be actively involved in making communities better.

Helping you find the right place to volunteer. Each year our Volunteer Centre gives hundreds of people information about how they can get involved in volunteering. Let us make it easy for you! We do the leg work in finding organisations that need volunteers and advertise them online through the do-it website. We can give you information and advice about volunteering and how to find volunteers.

Signposting, services and the rest! Working out and about in the community enables us to keep abreast of local issues and information and we circulate this through our monthly newsletters. We maintain an extensive database of local groups. You can find information about social activities in West Bridgford for older people on this site. If you need to borrow equipment (e.g. a projector or flipchart) or need some photocopying for a meeting then we can offer low, affordable rates. We can now offer our meeting room for hire.
