RCVS host a number of projects reaching a diverse range of people throughout the borough of Rushcliffe to improve quality of life for individuals, groups and communities.

 

Here's a little about some of the projects we are involved in:

 

    

Community Outreach Advisor Service - a Service to people aged 50 and over to give them the support, information and advice they need to stay safe, happy and independent in their own homes. Jessica is our Community Outreach Advisor; she is able to make home visits and can help put people in touch with a wide range of services. First Contact Signposting Scheme -  First Contact works with public and voluntary services to help people aged 60 and over to access the information and support they need. First Contact can help with fitting smoke alarms, arranging home repairs, advice on crime reduction and keeping your home warm and other issues that matter to older people. The scheme operates in Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe. Rushcliffe Youth Action Network - RYAN works to promote and support youth engagement in the wider community. It is about celebrating the achievements of young people, enabling them to project positive images countering negative stereotypes, and acknowledging the contribution they make to their local communities. Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service manage and run the Visitors Centre at HMP Whatton on behalf of the Prison Service. The centre is designed to provide a welcoming place for friends and families of prisoners to spend time and relax before and after their visit. Cotgrave Children’s Centre was established in 2006 and is based at Cotgrave Futures building on Candleby Lane in the centre of the Town. Since that time it has been delivering services to parents, carers and children including for parents and children. Contact Susan Hillier on 0115 9891707
