RACA Health Awareness Day

RACA - Rushcliffe Asian Community Association that is! - are holding a 'Health Awareness Day' on Monday 27th July 2009 from 10.30am to 1.30pm at West Park Pavilion, off Loughborough Road in West Bridgford. Substance Misuse & Sexual Health Training

“Working with young people"

Thursday 10th September 2009 .
until at Cotgrave Leisure Centre, studio 3.
Lunch & refreshments provided.
For those working with young people in the Rushcliffe area, to better understand the link     between substance misuse and sexual health and help you develop your own working practice.
 
Learning Outcomes:-
  • To explore lifestyles and risk taking behaviour
  • To gain an understanding of the risk and effects of alcohol & drugs
  • To explore the like between substance misuse & sexual health
  • To understand the consequences and attitudes to sexual health
  • To look at resources that support working with substance misuse & sexual health
  • To be able to signpost effectively

For those working with young people in the Rushcliffe area, who want to build upon their competencies and feel more confident in dealing with young men’s sexual health issues.
 
Learning Outcomes.
  • To understand young men’s attitudes, behaviour and issues.
  • To better engage with young men in group or individual settings.
  • Increase knowledge of young men’s sexual health including, Testicular Cancer.
  • Signposting to services
